उत्तर

The soft iron core is a laminated cylinder mounted on the axle. Its function is to provide a strong magnetic field when current flows through the coil wound around it. It also concentrates the magnetic flux and, because it is laminated, reduces eddy-current losses. The coil is wound over this core and rotates with it.
