उत्तर

Despite an adequate rainfall during the rainy season, we require irrigation because

  • Rainfall is uncertain, irregular and unreliable in India.
  • Distribution of rainfall in the country is uneven. While some states such as Kerala and Assam receive abundant rainfall during the monsoon months, Rajasthan and Haryana hardly receive any rainfall.
