Let three consecutive numbers be x, (x + 1) and (x + 2).
According to the question,
x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) = 156 ...[Given]
⇒ 3x + 3 = 156
⇒ 3x = 156 – 3 = 153
∴ `x = 153 xx 1/3 = 51`
Thus, we get the numbers 51, 51 + 1 and 51 + 2, i.e. 51, 52 and 53. Out of these, only 52 is a multiple of 13.
