For this project, I researched the functioning of the West Bengal Legislature.

1. The West Bengal Legislative Assembly is a unicameral legislature with 294 elected members.
2. Important office bearers include the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Chief Minister, Governor, and Leader of the Opposition, who may belong to different political parties.
3. The Assembly is made up of members from different political parties, and their seat distribution can be shown using different colours for easy understanding.
4. The law-making process includes introducing a Bill, discussing and debating it, voting on it, and finally receiving the governor's assent before it becomes a law.
5. Important sessions have included the 2023 Budget Session, where issues such as welfare schemes, education, and health policies were discussed.
6. Recent discussions have also focused on economic development, infrastructure, and labour-related reforms.
