Scheme	Main Objective
Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS)	To provide at least 100 days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year to eligible rural households whose adult members volunteer for unskilled manual work.
Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G)	To provide pucca houses with basic amenities to eligible rural households. The scheme has been continued for 2024–25 to 2028–29.
Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)	To improve all-weather road connectivity in rural areas. PMGSY-IV is being implemented during 2024–25 to 2028–29.
Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana–National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM)	To reduce rural poverty by promoting self-employment, sustainable livelihoods and women’s Self-Help Groups.
Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY)	To provide skill training and employment opportunities to rural youth.
National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP)	To provide social assistance and pensions to eligible elderly persons, widows and persons with disabilities.

Implementation in rural areas:

In rural areas, these schemes can be seen through the construction of houses under PMAY-G, employment provided through MGNREGS, formation of women’s Self-Help Groups under DAY-NRLM, improvement of village roads under PMGSY, skill training for rural youth and pensions provided to eligible people.

Observation:

These schemes help improve employment, housing, roads, skills, women’s empowerment and social security in villages. Therefore, they help raise the standard of living for rural people.
