उत्तर

The three types of rainfall are:

  1. Convectional Rainfall: Caused by intense heating of the Earth’s surface, which causes moist air to rise, cool adiabatically, and form clouds that produce heavy rainfall. This type of rainfall is common in the Equatorial region and often occurs in the afternoon.
  2. Orographic (Relief) Rainfall: Occurs when moist winds are forced to rise over a mountain barrier, cooling as they ascend and shedding moisture as rainfall on the windward side. The leeward side receives much less rain, often called the rain shadow area.
  3. Cyclonic (Frontal) Rainfall: Happens when two different air masses meet, such as warm air meeting cold air. The warm air is forced to rise, cool, and condense to form rain. This type of rainfall is associated with cyclones and frontal systems and can vary from light drizzle to heavy rain.

The most common type of rainfall in the equatorial region is Convectional Rainfall. This occurs due to intense heating of the Earth’s surface, which causes the air near the ground to warm up, rise rapidly, cool adiabatically, and condense to form clouds and rainfall. This type of rainfall happens almost daily throughout the year in equatorial regions like the Amazon basin, due to consistently high temperatures and evaporation rates.
