उत्तर

The special feature of the age structure of the Indian population is that India has a youthful population. A large portion of the population falls in the 15–59 age group, which is considered the working-age population. This makes India a country with a productive and energetic population, capable of contributing significantly to national development.

Two Consequences of This Age Structure:

  1. Demographic Dividend: A large working-age population increases the availability of labour and can boost economic growth, provided there are enough employment opportunities and proper skill development.
  2. Increased Pressure on Resources: A youthful population leads to high demand for education, jobs, healthcare, and housing. If these needs are not met, it may result in unemployment and social unrest.
