उत्तर

Relying only on texts written by scholars and royal advisors can have several limitations:

  • They may be biased: Such writers often supported the king and may have presented his rule in a favourable way.
  • They may describe ideals, not reality: The texts might explain how a kingdom should be governed rather than how it was actually governed.
  • Ordinary people’s views may be missing: Farmers, traders, workers, women and other groups may not have had their experiences recorded.
  • Local differences may be ignored: The actual system of administration could vary from one region to another.
  • Failures may be left out: Problems, conflicts, rebellions or weaknesses of the ruler might not be mentioned.
