∴ `(AB)/(BD) = (AC)/(CE"` ...[Basic proportionality theorem]
∴ `2/3 = 4/x` ...[Given]
∴ 2 × x = 4 × 3
∴ 2x = 12
∴ x = `12/2`
∴ x = 6
