उत्तर
Given equation
x2 + `sqrt(2)` - 4 = 0; x = `sqrt(2)`, x = -2`sqrt(2)`
Substitute x = `sqrt(2)` in the L.H.S.
L.H.S. = `(sqrt(2))^2 + sqrt(2) xx sqrt(2) - 4`
= 2 + 2 - 4
= 4 - 4
= 0
Hence x = `sqrt(2)` is a solution of the given equation.
