• My district, taluka, state or municipal area can be considered a formal region because it has clearly defined administrative boundaries.
  Example: Pune District or Maharashtra State.
• Yes. A functional region can be identified on the basis of the area served by a particular service or activity.
  Example: The area served by Pune Municipal Transport, a local market, railway station, school or hospital can be marked as a functional region.
• There is no fixed rule. A formal region may be larger or smaller than a functional region depending on the region and the service considered.
