  • Understanding Consumer Needs: Research helps in finding out what customers want, their preferences, and their problems. 
    Example: Before launching a new smartphone, a company can survey customers to learn whether they prefer longer battery life, better cameras, or affordable pricing.
  • Studying Competitors: Marketing research helps in analysing what competitors are offering, their pricing, distribution channels, and promotion strategies. 
    Example: If many brands are selling cold drinks at similar prices, a new brand can focus on unique flavors or eco-friendly packaging.
  • Deciding Product Features: Research shows which features attract customers the most, so the new product can be designed accordingly. 
    Example: A toothpaste company may find that customers prefer herbal and fluoride-free products, so it can launch a new herbal toothpaste.
  • Fixing Price: Marketing research helps in setting the right price by understanding how much customers are willing to pay and what prices competitors charge.
