Let x be the mean proportion of `(1)/(12) and (1)/(75)`
then `(1)/(12) : x : : x : (1)/(75)`
∴ x2 = `(1)/(12) xx (1)/(75) = (1)/(900)`
∴ x = `sqrt(1/900) = (1)/(30)`
Hence the mean proportion = `(1)/(30)`.
