प्रश्न
Find the excluded values, of the following expression
`(x^2 + 6x + 8)/(x^2 + x - 2)`
Advertisements
उत्तर
x2 + 6x + 8 = (x + 4) (x + 2)
x2 + x – 2 = (x + 2) (x – 1)
`(x^2 + 6x + 8)/(x^2 + x - 2) = ((x + 4)(x + 2))/((x + 2)(x - 1))`
= `(x + 4)/(x - 1)`

The expression `(x + 4)/(x - 1)` is undefined
when x – 1 = 0
∵ x = 1
The excluded value is 1
