उत्तर
Currently, ASEAN has ten member countries. It was created in 1967 by five member countries: the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand. Following that, countries such as Brunei, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Myanmar joined. The ASEAN Security Community (ASC), ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), and ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) are the organization's three basic pillars.
- Objective of ASC: Its principal goal is to bring peace to the region and to establish the rule of law throughout the ASEAN region. It also seeks to strengthen the dispute resolution mechanism so that all issues can be readily managed through appropriate negotiations and arbitration.
- Objective of AEC: The major goal of this body is to establish a favourable trading environment for ASEAN countries. It attempts to overcome all issues encountered by ASEAN members during the movement of products and services. It has found dialogue forums to handle all trade-related concerns amicably.
- Objective of ASCC: The primary goal of this body is to create an ASEAN community devoted to improving its people's quality of life via people-oriented and people-centred cooperative activities.
