- This water loss occurs as water vapor into the atmosphere.
- Transpiration helps in the ascent of sap by creating a transpiration pull.
- It also helps in cooling the plant and maintaining water balance.
- Transpiration occurs through three main sites - cuticle, stomata, and lenticels.
