1. The server and receiver must stand diagonally opposite each other in their service courts without touching the boundary lines.
2. The server serves from the right service court when their score is even (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, etc.) and from the left service court when their score is odd (1, 3, 5, 7, etc.).
3. At the moment of service, part of both the server’s and receiver’s feet must remain stationary and in contact with the court until the serve is struck.
4. The entire shuttle must be below the server’s waist when it is hit by the racket.
5. The server’s racket must first contact the base of the shuttle.
6. At the instant of hitting the shuttle, the racket shaft must be pointing downward.
7. After being served, the shuttle must land in the receiver’s service court.
8. A service is considered to have been delivered if the server attempts to serve but fails to hit the shuttle.
