उत्तर

A displacement reaction occurs when a more active element displaces a less active element from a compound.
Examples:

  1. Zinc displaces copper from copper sulphate solution.
    \[\ce{Zn + CuSO4_{(aq)} -> ZnSO4_{(aq)} + Cu}\]
  2. Iron pieces when added to copper sulphate solution, copper is displaced.
    \[\ce{Fe + CuSO4 → FeSO4 + Cu}\]
