Explain the blocked process states of process management.

A process is said to be in the blocked state when it is waiting for an external event, such as an I/O operation. The main difference between the blocked and ready states is that a blocked process cannot be scheduled even if the CPU is free, whereas a ready process can be scheduled when the CPU becomes available.
