Sir,
I would like to address the public and the relevant authorities through the pages of your renowned newspaper about the necessity of cleanliness in our surroundings in order to prevent the spread of diseases such as malaria and dengue.
The number of dengue and malaria patients has increased substantially in recent months, posing a serious threat to our community. Only by taking specific precautions can these infections be avoided.
Firstly, we should avoid storing water inside or outside our homes because stagnant water serves as a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Water-holding objects such as old tyres, broken buckets, and containers must be emptied or disposed of. At home, we should install nets on windows and doors, wear full-sleeved clothing to avoid skin exposure, and apply market-available insect repellents. We should sleep with mosquito netting at night.
We can prevent the spread of diseases like malaria and dengue by taking these easy precautions and keeping our surroundings clean. I urge the authorities to adopt strict efforts to promote cleanliness and awareness in order to minimise mosquito breeding. Every citizen is responsible for keeping their surroundings clean and healthy. I hope my letter makes it into the pages of your prestigious newspaper.
