उत्तर

  Aerobic Respiration Anaerobic respiration
1. It occurs in the presence of oxygen. It occurs in the absence of oxygen.
2. It occurs in three steps: glycolysis, the TCA (Krebs) cycle, and the electron transport chain. It occurs in two steps: glycolysis and fermentation.
3. The end products are CO2, H2O, and energy. The end products are organic acids, alcohol, and energy.
4. A larger amount of energy is generated. A lesser amount of energy is generated.
5. Complete oxidation of glucose takes place.  Incomplete oxidation of glucose takes place.
6. It takes place in higher plants, animals, and certain aerobic microbes. It takes place in yeast, muscle cells, erythrocytes, and some anaerobic microbes.
