Explain method for giving seeding.

Seeding places strong teams in different parts of the draw so that they do not meet each other early in the tournament. It is based on the previous performance or ranking of teams. 

• If 2 teams are to be seeded, the winner of the previous tournament is placed at the bottom of the lower half and the second-best team at the top of the upper half.
• If 4 teams are to be seeded, the 1st and 2nd seeds are placed as above; the 3rd seed is placed at the top of the lower half and the 4th seed at the bottom of the upper half.
  Example: In a knockout tournament with 4 seeds A, B, C and D, A goes to bottom of lower half, B to top of upper half, C to top of lower half, and D to bottom of upper half. This prevents the strongest teams from meeting in the early rounds.
