उत्तर

Sr. No. Diabetes mellitus Diabetes insipidus
1. It is mainly due to a deficiency of insulin or improper action of insulin. This condition is caused by either a deficiency of ADH (vasopressin) or by the kidneys’ failure to respond to ADH.
2. It causes high blood glucose level (hyperglycaemia). Blood glucose level is usually normal.
3. Glucose is present in urine (sweet urine). Glucose is absent in urine (urinary is not sweet).
4. Urine output may increase, but the key problem is impaired glucose metabolism. Urine output is enormous and dilute due to reduced water reabsorption (severe thirst and dehydration risk).
