- Different person can have different developmental goals because they come from different backgrounds.
- For example, A girl expects as much freedom and opportunity as her brother and that he also shares in the household work. Her brother may not like this.
उत्तर २
The statement “Different people may have different developmental goals” emphasises that “development” is a subjective concept. What symbolises development for one person may be meaningless or even harmful to another, depending on their life circumstances and goals.
Examples:
- Landless Rural Labourers: They want more days of employment, higher pay, and a quality education for their children at the local school.
- Prosperous Farmers from Punjab: By using hard-working, inexpensive labourers and higher support prices for their products, they hope to achieve a high family income.
- A Girl from a Rich Urban Family: She wants her brother to help out around the house and expects him to have the same freedom and opportunities.
- Industrialists vs. Tribal People: Industrialists may demand larger dams to generate more energy, but doing so could swamp the land and disturb the livelihoods of tribal people who prefer to irrigate their land with small check dams or tanks.
