Messages can be sent from one computer terminal to another when they are connected to the same network, regardless of how far apart they are. The receiving end's computer terminal operator receives a signal informing him that there is mail or a message in his electronic mail box. As an alternative, he can periodically glance at his mail box to see whether there is any new correspondence. He can either save the message or have it flash on his computer screen right away. By connecting fax, phone, and telex equipment to a computer, e-mail can even be used to send phone messages and fax vital documents. For a little fee, a computer owner can install email software and set up an email ID (address) for sending and receiving messages. By entering a password, the user can access his ID each time he wishes to send a message or check his incoming mail.
2. Video-Conference: A virtual gathering between individuals seated in various cities or nations is called a video-conference. Broadband internet connections and television screens are used for it. The participants can communicate with one another as well as see and hear one another. Satellite networks are used to link several video and phone systems together. A video conference is a two-way, interactive communication method that blends audio and video.
