Primary data refers to data originally collected by the investigator for the present inquiry, directly from individuals or groups of individuals, using direct personal investigation, indirect personal investigation, mailing interview method, telephonic interview method, etc. It is also called first-hand or original data. It is much more reliable than secondary data.
