1. The Green Revolution had both positive and negative effects in India. Its positive effects included a rise in food grain production, reduction in famines, economic growth, use of modern technology, development of agro-based industries, and creation of employment opportunities.
2. It helped India become self-sufficient in food grains. However, it also caused regional disparities, environmental degradation due to excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides, neglect of non-food crops, increased inequality among farmers, health hazards, and decline of traditional farming practices.
3. Thus, the Green Revolution brought major changes to Indian agriculture and the economy.
