Tangents drawn to a circle from an external point are equal.
So, AP = AS,
PB = BQ,
CR = CQ,
DR = DS
On adding the above equations,
(AP + PB) + (CR + RD) = (AS + BQ) + (CQ + DS)
⇒ AB + CD = AD + BC
⇒ `(AB + CD)/(AD + BC)` = 1
