A carpenter makes a box which has a volume of 13,400 cm3. The base has an area of 670 cm2. What is the height of the box?

Let the height of the box be h.
Volume of the box = 13400 cm2
Area of base of the box = 670 cm2
∵ Volume of a box = Area of base × Height
∴ 13400 = 670 × h
⇒ h = `13400/670`
⇒ h = `1340/67` = 20 cm
Hence, the height of the box is 20 cm.
