Running Commentary on a Football Match

Commentator 1: Good afternoon everyone! Welcome to this exciting football match between our school and Green Valley School. Both teams are on the field, and the referee has blown the whistle. The match begins! Our team takes possession of the ball and quickly moves towards the opponent’s goal.

Commentator 2: What an exciting game we are watching! Green Valley School has gained possession now. Their striker moves forward, passes the ball to his teammate and shoots but what a brilliant save by our goalkeeper! The crowd is cheering loudly. Our team immediately launches a counter-attack and scores! It is 1–0.

Commentator 3: We are now in the second half. Green Valley School is putting tremendous pressure on our defence. Here comes their forward he shoots, and it’s a goal! The score is now 1–1. Only a few minutes are left. Both teams are trying desperately to score the winning goal.

Commentator 4: What breathtaking final moments! Our captain receives the ball and races towards the goal. He passes it to the striker. The striker shoots – GOAL! What a magnificent goal! The score is 2–1. And there goes the final whistle! Our school has won the match by two goals to one. The players shake hands, and the spectators applaud both teams for their wonderful performance. What an unforgettable match!
