As the start of college approaches, my thoughts are full of hopes and dreams, with freedom from parental supervision and the rigid discipline of academic life holding the top rank. It's wonderful to imagine what life would be like.
The major concern is the unrestricted freedom to choose friends. I will be able to work at my own pace because I will not be required to complete homework. I can't get enough of the prospect of being free of uniforms, assignments, and punishments. However, I am well aware that with freedom comes responsibility. I will have to be extra cautious without somebody forcing me to study every day or chastising me for my grades. College does not necessarily imply freedom; it also entails responsibility, which prepares us for the competitive real world by requiring us to live a disciplined lifestyle. Staying focused on academics is essential for succeeding in college. The choices we make now will determine our future.
