I am writing to bring to your immediate attention the growing distress caused by the ongoing construction activities in our colony over the last few months. While development is necessary, the complete disregard for civic protocols by the contractors has made daily life difficult for many residents.

Currently, building materials are being left on the pavements, forcing pedestrians, including children and the elderly, to walk on the main road amidst traffic. Furthermore, rubble is being dumped in the back lanes and, more alarmingly, into the sewage pipes. This is likely to lead to severe water-logging and hygiene issues as we approach the monsoon season. Additionally, work often continues well beyond permissible hours, disrupting the peace of the neighbourhood.

To mitigate these issues, I suggest the RWA mandates the following protocols for all builders:

1. Strict Timings: Construction noise should be restricted to between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM to respect residents' rest hours.
2. Pavement Clearance: All sand, bricks, and iron rods must be stored within the plot boundaries or designated areas, keeping walkways clear.
3. Waste Management: Debris must be hauled away to authorised dumping grounds weekly, ensuring no waste enters the sewage system or back lanes.
4. Dust Control: Use of green nets or water sprinkling should be mandatory to prevent dust from entering neighbouring homes.

I request you to intervene and ensure these guidelines are enforced strictly to restore order in our colony.
