Indian Women in Science and Technology

Good morning respected Principal, teachers and my dear friends.

“Dream is not what you see in sleep. Dream is something that does not let you sleep.” These inspiring words by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam remind us to work hard to achieve our goals.

Today, I am going to speak about Indian women who have excelled in the field of Science and Technology. Women like Kalpana Chawla, Tessy Thomas, Dr. Gagandeep Kang, and Ritu Karidhal, known as the “Rocket Woman of India”, have made our country proud through their dedication and hard work. Their achievements prove that women can succeed in every field.

The article about women astronauts inspired me because they showed courage, determination, and confidence. Even after facing many challenges, they never gave up on their dreams. Their stories teach us that with hard work and perseverance, nothing is impossible.

However, there are still very few women in the field of Science and Technology. Some reasons are lack of encouragement, gender stereotypes, limited opportunities, and family responsibilities. Many girls are discouraged from choosing careers in science.

This can be changed by giving equal education and opportunities to girls, encouraging them to study science, providing scholarships, and creating a safe and supportive environment. Parents, teachers, and society should motivate girls to dream big and believe in themselves.

In conclusion, let us remember that talent has no gender. If we support and encourage girls, they can become great scientists, engineers, and astronauts. Let us dream big, work hard, and make India proud.

Thank you.
