3. Early life and interests: belonged to a poor rural farmer family, was interested in boxing and athletics

7. Early achievements: 2000 - winner in the Manipur State women’s boxing championship and regional championship in West Bengal.
   2001 - At the age of 18, made her debut at the International level in the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championship in the United States and won a silver medal in the 48 kg weight category.
