उत्तर

Women’s Suffrage refers to the right of women to vote in political elections. Historically, women were denied this basic democratic right in most countries. The Women’s Suffrage Movement emerged in the 19th and early 20th centuries, demanding equal voting rights for women alongside men.

The movement first gained success in New Zealand in 1893, making it the first country to grant women the right to vote. Gradually, other nations followed, the UK (1918, then fully in 1928), the USA (1920), and later India, which adopted Universal Adult Franchise in 1950, giving equal voting rights to both men and women.

Women’s suffrage has played a crucial role in promoting gender equality, political participation, and the empowerment of women in democratic societies.
