उत्तर
A Jumbo Ministry refers to a government cabinet that has a very large number of ministers. This happens when the ruling party or leader includes many people in the ministry, often to please different political groups, supporters, or allies so they can stay in power.
Instead of choosing only those who are really needed for the work, the government adds more ministers to keep everyone happy. The practice is common in coalition governments or in states where leaders want to give representation to many castes, regions, or communities.
However, having too many ministers can lead to waste of public money, confusion in work, and inefficient governance.
Example: Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati once added 56 new ministers to her cabinet, making it a jumbo ministry. This was seen as a move to strengthen her political position.
