Question

Write in brief the history of table tennis.

Answer 1

Table tennis probably developed from Royal Tennis and was played with improvised equipment in England in the late nineteenth century. David Foster patented a table-tennis game in 1890, and the introduction of the celluloid ball in 1900 helped popularise the name Ping-Pong. The ITTF was founded in 1926, the first world championship was held in London that year, and the sport became an Olympic event in 1988.
