उत्तर

Sedimentary cycles have their reservoirs in the Earth’s crust or rocks. Nutrient elements are found in Earth’s sediments. Elements such as sulphur, phosphorus, potassium, and calcium have sedimentary cycles.

Features of a sedimentary cycle in an ecosystem are as follows:

  1. Earth’s crust is the main reservoir of phosphorus and other minerals, such as calcium and potassium, that undergo sedimentary cycles.
  2. Various environmental factors, such as temperature, moisture, and soil type, regulate the rate at which minerals are released into the sedimentary cycle.
  3. Sedimentary cycles are slower than the gaseous cycles; therefore, they take more time to complete. They take a long time to complete their circulation and are considered less perfect cycles. This is because, during recycling, nutrient elements may be locked into the reservoir pool, thereby taking a very long time to return to circulation. Thus, it usually goes out of circulation for a long time.
  4. Sedimentary cycles are considered less perfect, as during recycling, nutrient elements may be locked into the reservoir pool, thereby taking a very long time to return and continue circulation.
