x² + 5x = –(3 – x)

 x² + 5x = –(3 – x) 

\[\Rightarrow x^2 + 5x + 3 - x = 0\]
\[ \Rightarrow x^2 + 4x + 3 = 0\] 

So, it is of the form ax² + bx + c = 0 where a = 1, b = 4 and c = 3.
