  2. At Boston Harbour, American colonists dressed as Native Americans protested by boarding British ships and throwing 342 chests of tea into the sea.
  3. By raising tensions between the American colonists and the British government, this act of defiance fuelled the American independence movement and resulted in a harsh British response through the Intolerable Acts.
