A programme is a comprehensive, single-use plan designed to implement policies and achieve a specific objective. It combines goals, policies, tasks and resources, and specifies the steps to be taken, who will perform them and the time allowed. Examples include a new-product development programme, a training programme and an expansion programme. A major programme may also require several supporting or minor programmes.
