उत्तर

Antiferroelectricity is a property of certain materials in which adjacent electric dipoles are aligned in opposite directions, resulting in no net polarization under normal conditions. Unlike ferroelectric substances, where dipoles align in the same direction, antiferroelectric materials cancel out each other’s polarization. However, under a strong external electric field, these dipoles can be reoriented to align in the same direction, temporarily showing ferroelectric-like behaviour. An example of an antiferroelectric material is lead zirconate (PbZrO3). These materials are useful in energy storage devices and electromechanical applications due to their reversible dipole behaviour.
