उत्तर
Bharat Stage Emission Standards are emission norms introduced by the Government of India to control air pollution caused by motor vehicles.
These standards limit the amount of harmful pollutants such as carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and particulate matter (PM) released from vehicle exhausts. The norms are progressively made stricter to encourage the use of cleaner fuels and improved engine technology.
India introduced different stages such as BS-I, BS-II, BS-III, BS-IV and BS-VI. BS-VI norms are much stricter and significantly reduce vehicular pollution.
Thus, Bharat Stage Emission Standards help to improve air quality, reduce harmful emissions, and protect human health and the environment.
