Motivational determinants of attitude refer to the way our needs, desires, and goals shape our attitudes. Our attitudes often develop to help us satisfy certain personal or social needs.

Someone might have a favorable attitude toward studying because it helps achieve success and respect. Similarly, people may hold negative attitudes toward things they see as threats or obstacles to their goals.
