• Russian Siberia: Political unity is maintained by bending westward to include Chukotka and the Kamchatka Peninsula in the same time zone as Russia.
• Kiribati (Pacific Ocean): For commercial and administrative reasons, Kiribati moved the IDL eastward to include its eastern islands (e.g., Line Islands) in the same date zone in 1995.

Reasons for the Deviations:
