Why is transpiration called a necessary evil?

Water is lost by transpiration but still, it is a necessary process since it gives the following advantages to the plant.

1. Creates an absorption force in roots to suck more water from the soil.
2. Regulates the temperature of the plant. Hence transpiration is said to be a necessary evil.
