  1. Atomic mass rises from Ti to Cu because each element has more protons and neutrons.
  2. Atomic/metallic volume falls slightly across the 3d series (added d‑electrons give poor shielding and pull the atoms in).
  3. Since density = mass/volume, increased mass plus smaller volume makes density increase from Ti to Cu (Zn is an exception due to larger atomic volume).
