उत्तर
- Though common, it did not include every part of the population. The people were not involved in the revolt.
- Only persons who had been harmed by the British joined the revolution.
- Scindia, Holkar, and the Raja of Jodhpur did not participate. Instead, they supported the Brits.
- Merchants and the western-educated middle class did not join it. The British soldiers were better prepared. The Indians’ weapons were out of date. The British possessed seasoned and capable generals.
- Indian politicians lacked this knowledge. The revolutionaries didn’t have enough resources. The British were more powerful economically and militarily. The revolution was not planned or organized.
- The British had the benefit of post and telegraph. This enabled them to converse and share messages, devise strategies, and act quickly.
