उत्तर

The process by which male immature germ cells develop into sperm (spermatozoa) is known as spermatogenesis. Seminiferous tubules found inside the testis are where it occurs. Spermiogenesis and spermatid formation are its two phases.

A diploid spermatogonium, or male germ cell, grows larger during spermatogenesis to create a diploid primary spermatocyte. To create two equal haploid secondary spermatocytes, the diploid primary spermatocyte divides reductionally during the first meiotic division (meiosis I). To create two equal haploid spermatids, each secondary spermatocyte thereafter undergoes the second meiotic division, or meiosis II. Thus, four haploid spermatids are produced by a diploid spermatogonium. The process known as spermiogenesis turns these spermatids into spermatozoa, or sperm.
