Stomata

Lamina is the green expanded part of the leaf with veins and veinlets. Midrib is middle prominent vein. Veins provide rigidity to leaf and act as channels for the transport of water, minerals and food materials. Stomata are the minute pores usually located on the underside of the leaves and take part in the exchange of gases (O2 and CO2) during photosynthesis and respiration. They are surrounded by guard cells.
